Boost Mobile haz been my sel fone company for many yirz, ever sins they took over Virgin, wich took over (forgot their name) wich took over PrimeCo sum time in the 00z, hoo I’d been with sins 1999. I wuz a loyal customer to a seriez uv fickle companiez.
I’m going to be swiching to Consumer Sellular today.
Wy?
The reazon iz kuz I get a haf duzen callz frum skammerz and solisitorz every day, so wen Boost callz to ask wy I dropped them I can hav the satisfaction uv saying ‘kuz you are moronz’.
Therez a voise that tellz the name or number calling wen I get callz wen its ringing. Wen its a skammer, it sez ‘skam likely’. Its also ritten and appearz az ‘skam likely’ in the call log.
Insted uv interrupting me 4, 5, 6 timez a day, they shoud be just completely blocking the callz! DU!

To get a notion uv how rediculously stoopid the fone companiez are, imajin youre in Walgreenz, normally a nice, peaseful, quiet store, and a sassy yung woman woks up to you and sez ‘Hi! I’m Rachel! We hav been trying to reach you about your car warranty about to expire.” You shoo her away and she runz over to another customer. A minit later a man woks up and sez “Pleaze lissen carefully. We hav an investment opportuniity in the exploding field uv enerjy exploration…” GO AWAY! a minit later and “Hi! I’m Jackie! Hav you been feeling less perky in the bedroom lately? Our aluminum siding is just wut you need to get your enthuziazm up agen!”
See? It aint gunu happen! The manajer will toss them out within 5 minits and call the cops if they try to get back in.
I dont expect Consumer Sellular to be any better at handling skammerz and spammerz. The entire fone industry iz either blitheringly incompetent or actually competing to see hoo can piss off their customerz the most! AT&T iz lejendary for their incomprehensible billz dezined to hide overcharjing. I imajin the CEOz uv the major companiez on a golf course plasing little million dollar wajerz over how well a new idea to jenerate complaints will work.
‘How about letting criminalz in India plase millionz uv callz a day on our networks?’

Next day update:
I’v wasted about 3 owrz yesterday & today tryng to swich. Boost Mobile keeps your account number secret! This keeps the company youre trying to swich to from being able to complete the transfer.
FINALLY I got the number just now az I’m typing this. I had to put the old Boost sim card bak in, call them on the idiot fone, then they called bak with the number.
( a sub stooooopid here – the fone rang with call waiting and had the green ansr buttun and red decline buttun. Wen I hit the ansr buttun, insted uv ansrring, a little menu pops up with a list uv choisez:
ansr the call
put current call on hold
hang up current call
order a pizza
turn on the deep fryer
But trying to klik any uv thoze duznt seem to do anything! I dont no exactly wut happend but my frantic tapping finally got the call from the customer servis to be ansrd.)
So, herez a tip: Wen you want to swich to a different servis provider, dont put in the new sim card before getting your account number.
I’m gessing therez going to be more stoopid hassle befor I’m dun here.

Its November 4th, Thurzday. 10 dayz after calling Consumer and Boost to swich. I’v blown about 14 owrz on hold & yammering with customer servis peep and still do not hav servis.
I’v spoken with a dozen peepl at the 2 companyz and every wun uv them sez sumthing different. Its like the very first prototype R&D experiment for a cutting ej tek idea! ‘Lets try this! Lets try that! Wut happenz if we do this?’ Youd think you must be the first person ever, so they dont hav the prosess figured out yet!
The last gi I spoke with had me get the IMEI number and sez ‘Therez the problem. Your fone iz not compatible with our system’ but all the previous peepl I spoke with also had me get the number and did not say anything about incompatibility. So did he lie just to get me off the fone or iz their staff poorly trained?

I went to Target yesterday (Saturday) and got a new fone spesificly for Consumer Sellular. So finally I got servis. CJ, the electronics department gi knowz more about the sellular biz than the entire servis departments at both companiez combined! He sed Boost alwayz makes it a big hassle to drop them.
My advise for anybody considering swiching from any company to another: Giv up on your old fone. And if youre not too attached to your old number, even better!

My advise for anybody hoo wants to leave Consumer Sellular: File a complaint with the FCC first, then call to chanje. Unless you giv up on your fone number, they are going to hold it hostaj and waste at least 20 owrz uv your time. So getting your complaint in early mite make them reconsider obstructing you.
Also, I like Ting. Good prise. American customer servis personel that know wut theyre tokking about. And the on-hold muzik iz the end credits theme from Buckaroo Banzai!
